Today’s post is from our partners The Red Shoe Society of Fort Worth. This wonderful young professional organization supports The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth in many ways. Read on to learn more about the organization, what they do and how to get involved!
[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth’s (RMHFW) young leadership community is known as the Red Shoe Society (RSS). With over 150 members, this diverse group of young professionals is dedicated to supporting the House in providing a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving medical treatment through fundraising, volunteer efforts and networking events. Wearing red shoes identifies these members of RSS who support RMHFW.
On average, RSS raises over $50,000 for the House per year. These funds help keep approximately 500 families stay close to their child during this difficult time. By simply joining RSS, as “Founder’s Club” members (individual or couple), our annual membership dues of $100 help to house a family for a night at RMHFW. RMHFW is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.
The Red Shoe Society strives to raise awareness and further the mission of the RMHFW to the greater community by participating in monthly fundraising events as well as connecting with families of the RMHFW through volunteer opportunities. The Shop Small Fort Worth Holiday Market benefiting RMHFW will be held on November 12th and 13th, 2016 and we could not be more excited! This two-day event will feature amazing local artists, small businesses and craftsman as well as have entertainment, food, drinks and even a special visit from the North Pole.
